Michigan-native Kenneth Jay Lane first began a career in fashion working for Vogue as an art director. Inspired by the products he saw, Lane soon moved on to designing shoes for Christian Dior and Delman before playing around with ideas for jewelry. He quickly gained recognition for his elegant and innovative pieces, earning him a place in fashion history as the “King of Costume Jewelry.” Everyone from royalty to movie stars has worn his creations and his pieces are now extremely sought-after with vintage pieces often sold at auction houses. He continues to design the imaginative pieces that he’s built his reputation on and his jewelry acts as proof that costume jewelry could be just as beautiful as the “real thing.”
