Never satisfied with being able to find the right statement necklace, Camilla Gallacher began to create her own pieces to wear to events and shows while working as a fashion publicist in London. After much encouragement from friends and colleagues, Camilla left her PR career behind and officially launched Millie and Me in 2005, starting small and selling jewelry in a stall at Portabello Market. Before long, high-end London boutiques and larger retailers such as Urban Outfitters, discovered Millie and Me and placed orders. In September 2009, Camilla renamed her brand camillajames, and launched her Spring 2009 Collection stateside.
Camilla was born and raised in England. She graduated from University in 1999 with a degree in History of Art. She spent a year working at Conde Nast publications and 4 years as a fashion publicist at two of the top London agencies. She has designed exclusive collections for leading Australian designer, Alannah Hill.
camillajames Jewelry is inspired by a combination of vintage finds and summers spent trawling through Parisian flea markets. Working heavily with vintage chain, crystals and rhinestone pieces, each piece of camillajames jewelry is handmade and intricately woven together with chandelier crystals and unique fabrics.
