Lizzie Fortunato Jewels

Elizabeth Fortunato has been designing clothing and accessories since her childhood. Influenced by her paternal grandmother’s immaculate needlework and her maternal grandmother’s flawless style, Elizabeth spent her formative years sewing, beading, and creating the unexpected.

It was in 2002, when Elizabeth and her twin sister, Kathryn, left Delaware for Duke University that Lizzie Fortunato Jewels was born. As the sisters became known on campus for their distinct jewelry, Kathryn began marketing her sister’s stunning handiwork to their chic friends and before long the line had a devoted following. After graduating, Elizabeth and Kathryn relocated to Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where Elizabeth spent a year as a fashion publicist, before launching Lizzie Fortunato Jewels with Kathryn in the Spring of 2007.

Lizzie Fortunato Jewels draws on the principle that high-end jewelry is not limited to diamonds; the collection features industrial, found, and reclaimed materials in exceptionally fashion- forward designs.
In January 2008 the line was honored with Daily Candy’s “Sweetest Young Thing of 2007” award for “the year’s most innovative, inspiring and promising designer.” In addition to creating her own Spring / Summer 2009 collection, Elizabeth designed a capsule collection of jewelry for Victoria Bartlett’s velocity-inspired, SS09 VPL runway show during New York City fashion week.
